The 49ers might have answered one of their offensive line questions. NFL Media’s Peter Schrager on Friday reported San Francisco agreed to a one-year deal to re-sign veteran offensive lineman Jon Feliciano.
Feliciano was a free agent addition for the 49ers last season who figured to be a versatile veteran depth piece to help bolster a young offensive line. He wound up being a good starter for them at both guard spots, filling in when left guard Aaron Banks was out before eventually snagging the starting right guard job from Spencer Burford. Feliciano played in 16 games with seven starts last season.
There’s a chance Feliciano winds up being that versatile depth piece this season depending on what else happens through free agency and the draft. Competitions will take place and the right tackle spot may also impact how the 49ers want to operate at right guard, but as of Friday’s agreement Feliciano appears to have an inside track for that starting spot.
