The San Francisco 49ers’ depth at safety will be tested for the remainder of Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams. With rookie Malik Mustapha already sidelined, fellow safety Ji’Ayir Brown is dealing with a groin injury against the Rams.
Following his groin injury, the former Penn State Nittany Lion has been listed as questionable to return for the remainder of the game on Thursday night.

Ji'Ayir Brown (groin) is questionable. 49ers are down to two safeties — Talanoa Hufanga and Tashaun Gipson.

With Brown’s status in question, the 49ers will have to lean on a pair of veteran safeties for the rest of the game against the Rams. Talanoa Hufanga and Tashaun Gipson will patrol the back end of the defense while Brown deals with an injury.
