The San Francisco 49ers didn’t list Yetur Gross-Matos on Thursday’s injury report, which was a good sign that the defensive lineman, who has been out since Week 15, would return in Week 15. Gross-Matos practiced on Friday and is expected to be activated from the Injured Reserve on Saturday.

So we thought. Kyle Shanahan ruled Gross-Matos out. The 49ers are likely playing it safe with Gross-Matos and want to make sure he can get through a full week of practice before putting him out there. Here are the other players Kyle Shanahan ruled out for Sunday:

LB Tatum Bethune (ankle)
DE Sam Okuayinonu (ankle)
LB Nick Martin (concussion)
LB Eric Kendricks (calf)
QB Kurtis Rourke (knee)

Neither of the above four players practiced all week outside of Rourke, so it’s not a surprise to see them ruled out.

Christian McCaffrey was back at practice on Friday after being listed with an illness on Thursday. He’s a full-go and not on the injury report. Kyle Juszczyk was also cleared to play.

Wide receiver Jacob Cowing was seen working on the side of the field. Shanahan said Cowing is “getting close” to being fully healthy, and the plan is to open his practice window as soon as Cowing has reached that point: “He’s gotta pass a few more markers.”

Here is the injury report for the Tennessee Titans:

Out:

CB Jalyn Armour-Davis (Achilles)
Questionable C Lloyd Cushenberry III (foot)
OT Dan Moore Jr. (neck)
DE C.J. Ravenell (toe)
LB James Williams (illness)
G Kevin Zeitler (groin)
