For the second day in a row, we have a pair of NFC playoff teams facing off. Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are white hot, having won four games in a row and eight of their last nine games.
Ben Johnson has made quite the impact in his first season as a head coach. His quarterback looks like he’s franchise material, and the rookie pass catchers Colston Loveland and Luther Burden are turning the corner. DeAndre Swift will need a big game to keep the ball away from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Williams will need to score early and often, as the Bears’ defense has struggled mightily this season. Fortunately for them, so has Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense. You’d think that Hurts paired with that offensive line, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith, with Saquon Barkley in the backfield, equals a top-three offense.
Barkley is averaging 3.7 yards per carry this season, while the Eagles haven’t scored more than three touchdowns in a month. If there were ever a breakout game to be had, it’s against a Bears defense that just gave up 28 points to Mason Rudolph and the Steelers last week and allowed a J.J. McCarthy-led offense to score 27 points in Week 1. The Bears have feasted on turnovers, but the one thing the Eagles don’t do is turn it over.
