The 49ers are officially signing Equanimeous St. Brown as Ricky Pearsall will begin training camp on the Active/PUP list

The San Francisco 49ers officially signed Equanimeous St. Brown after a tryout on Monday. St. Brown was one of six receivers whom the Niners worked out.

The six-year veteran was last with the New Orleans Saints in 2024, where he appeared in two games but did not record a statistic. Fun fact: Equanimeous is the older brother of Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

This comes after general manager John Lynch said the team will be without Ricky Pearsall for the first few days as he recovers from a tweaked hamstring. However, Lynch said he expects Pearsall to return early in camp.

Lynch was optimistic about Jauan Jennings reporting for camp on Wednesday. Lynch said that he anticipates Jennings “being out there” and isn’t worried about his contract, after saying, “We love him and he’s here.”

Kyle Shanahan later said that Jennings did not request a trade.

As for Brandon Aiyuk, the team is encouraged by the progress Aiyuk’s made, but Lynch said they are “not anywhere close to having a concrete timeline” on Aiyuk’s return.

Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams are “here and healthy,” according to Shanahan. However, their workloads will be managed through camp. It wouldn’t be surprising to see veterans like McCaffrey, Williams, George Kittle, Fred Warner, and Nick Bosa receive multiple days off during camp.

Left guard Ben Bartch injured himself working out away from the facility. Like Pearsall, Lynch said he could be cleared soon and return to practice.
