In the NFL, you have to win ugly. The San Francisco 49ers have done so on a couple of occasions this season, like in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks or Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. Neither of those games had more than 30 points scored. On Sunday, we could be in store for a game that’s even lower scoring than those two were.

It’s not just one element of weather that will play a factor in Cleveland. The rain, wind, and cold will all play a part. According to the Weather Channel’s website, rain showers in the morning will change over to snow showers in the afternoon. That’s important as the game is slated to kick off at noon local time. The chance of rain and snow is 58 to 60 percent in Cleveland on Sunday. The high is 38 degrees.

That won’t be the biggest roadblock for either offense. The winds will be blowing southwest at 25 miles per hour, and those winds will be up to 35 miles per hour. According to the Weather Channel’s website, gusts may be even higher.

Good luck, Brock Purdy and Shedeur Sanders. The quarterbacks may not have more than five combined passes down the field if this weather report is accurate. The running backs will be busy on Sunday. However, that does not mean they’ll be effective. On the season, the Browns are first in schedule-adjusted efficiency against the run, while the 49ers are 23rd. On the flipside, the 49ers rank 20th on offense on the ground, while the Browns rank 27th.

The punters are going to earn their paychecks on Sunday, in what figures to be a battle of field position, field goals, and whichever team can generate a couple of explosive plays.
