Yesterday, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan wined-and-dined former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, who is scheduled to meet with the team in Santa Clara today. Are the Niners really going to sign their former archnemesis?<\/h2>\n

This is not a test.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the\u00a0Seattle Seahawks released<\/a>\u00a0cornerback\u00a0Richard Sherman<\/a>\u00a0in a move that was not unexpected, due to the\u00a0Seahawks\u2019 salary cap situation<\/a>, and Sherman\u2019s\u00a0inflated contract<\/a>. But then it got interesting.<\/p>\n

First came the report that San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan met with Sherman and his wife over dinner Friday evening,\u00a0per Marcus Thompson<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0The Athletic<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to somebody who was at the restaurant, Shanahan dined with Sherman and his wife\u00a0at Nick\u2019s Next Door restaurant in Los Gatos tonight. It seems the courting may have already begun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richard Sherman could be seeing Seattle twice a year:<\/p>\n

Sherman is scheduled to meet today with 49ers\u2019 officials, sources tell ESPN. 49ers want to make sure Sherman healing from injuries, and if both sides pleased with meeting, they will try to get contract done, per sources.<\/p>\n
