Kyle\u2019s update, 10:09 a.m. PT: <\/strong>Matt Maiocco believes the team is currently debating which players to keep on the active roster and play through minor injuries, and which to come to an injury settlement with:<\/p>\n The #49ers<\/a> are navigating several injury issues on the day NFL teams must get to the regular-season limit of 53 players. Most of the injuries are relatively minor, but teams cannot waive or release injured players without being prepared to pay some settlement.<\/p>\n \u2014 Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoNBCS) August 29, 2023<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n Matt listed the following players:<\/p>\n WR Danny Gray (shoulder)<\/p>\n WR Ray-Ray McCloud (wrist)<\/p>\n WR Chris Conley (shoulder)<\/p>\n TE Cameron Latu (knee)<\/p>\n K Zane Gonzalez (calf)<\/p>\n S Tayler Hawkins (hand)<\/p>\n CB A.J. Parker (hamstring)<\/p>\n CB Darrell Luter (knee)<\/p>\n RB Jeremy McNichols (hamstring)<\/p>\n DE Robert Beal (hamstring)<\/p>\n I\u2019d add Oren Burks to that list, especially with the talent at linebacker.<\/p>\n It feels like the 49ers<\/a> are the only team not to release a player on Monday or Tuesday as of 9:00 a.m. PT. Let\u2019s look around the league at some of the players cut who could help San Francisco.<\/p>\n Let\u2019s start with returners:<\/p>\n The #Giants<\/a> are waiving WR Kalil Pimpleton, per source. Pimpleton, an incredible name, fits the bill.<\/p>\n As does an old friend:<\/p>\n A bit of a surprise: The #Bengals<\/a> released punt returner\/WR Trent Taylor, who had five punt returns of 20+ yards last year. That\u2019ll do.
