49ers’ preseason standout misses practice as running backs near full strength
“The 49ers described Stribling and Lenoir as “day to day,” suggesting they are not expected to miss much practice time….Meanwhile, the 49ers saw four players return to practice, including veteran wide receiver Mike Evans and reserve running back Jordan James…

…Lenoir’s absence from practice left the 49ers without their two presumptive starting cornerback. Renardo Green was out with a hamstring injury he sustained on Thursday night. Green’s hamstring injury appears to be more on the mild side, as he was seen conditioning on the practice field…..Offensive lineman Austen Pleasants (knee) and linebacker Nick Martin (hamstring) also were sidelined due to injuries sustained on Thursday. Linebacker Jalen Graham did not practice due to an undisclosed condition…..

Guard Dominic Puni and defensive tackle CJ West were cleared to practice after advancing through the NFL’s concussion protocol. West had a productive day with a quarterback pressure against Mac Jones early in practice.”

49ers rookie Jaden Dugger reveals what he’s learning from Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw
“Really, the approach to the game, that’s what’s the most important—being relentless, running to the ball all the time,” Dugger shared. “If you watch film, you’re going to see those guys running to the ball all the time. That’s like the Forty-Niner way.

“You’re taught that in college, but they don’t harp on it as much. But now, when you come here, that’s the standard. In practice, even if you’re 40 yards away, you go chase the ball. So, just watching those guys and watching the team in general, just the culture around here, just that’s what it taught me.”

49ers’ Raheem Morris reveals key defensive updates ahead of preseason finale
“San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris spoke with reporters after Saturday’s training camp practice. Here’s everything he had to say.”

49ers injury updates: De’Zhaun Stribling and Deommodore Lenoir are day-to-day; Jordan James returns
“Second-year running back Jordan James (ribs) is feeling better after Kaelon Black’s preseason performance. James is back at practice. It would be a nice luxury if the 49ers offense had three competent running backs they could use throughout the season.

During OTAs, it was James, not Black, who was getting the reps with the starters when Christian McCaffrey would have an off day. James will look to take back the RB2 role from Black in a competition that will likely last into the season.”
