The 49ers defensive line is elite, but how and why are they so good? Some will tell you any team with four first-round defensive linemen is obviously going to be effective, but that isn’t always the case. This year, the Denver Broncos with Von Miller and Bradley Chubb are just 27th in the league with 19 sacks. The 49ers blend talent and scheme, Defensive Coordinator Robert Saleh uses a wide variety of defensive line stunts to confuse offensive lines, and create chaos. E-T stunts, T-T stunts, and Nut stunts (nose and tackle) are all part of the 49ers’ weekly game plan. The defensive line is incredibly deep and has a fantastic coaching staff to put them in the right position.
