One of the most polarizing players to discuss
According to Bart Scott, who was on ESPN radio Wednesday, Odell Beckham Jr. is on the trading block, and “it’s real right now. Adam Lefkoe from Bleacher report on his podcast with Connor Rogers on Thursday talked about how San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has been chasing Beckham Jr. for years. The two discussed this time last year when Beckham Jr. was on the trade block that the team that wanted OBJ the most and offered the most were the 49ers.
“Kyle Shannahan is obsessed with Odell Beckham with his offense, and he offered the most. [New York Giants GM Dave Gettleman] did not want to move Odell to the Niners for two reasons. He didn’t want him within the conference, so he wouldn’t trade him within the NFC, which is why he went to the Browns. No. 2, he knew Odell would be so successful with Kyle Shanahan, that the trade would make him look very, very bad, so he would not move him to the Niners.”
I’m not sure if the 49ers are in on Beckham Jr., but Shanahan has been chasing him for years, so it’s naive to think the Niners aren’t sniffing around. I think most 49ers fans are split on this. Half think OBJ is a locker room cancer and not worth it. The other half is siding with his talent and believe Shanahan can maximize
