After helping the San Francisco 49ers move up the field with seven carries on a single drive, Kyle Shanahan opted to let Elijah Mitchell finish the job at the goal line against the Washington Commanders.

For the first time this season, Mitchell punched in a touchdown on a two-yard plunge to extend the 49ers’ lead over the Commanders, 20-10.

Through three quarters, the 49ers have racked up 128 yards rushing on the ground against the Commanders. Mitchell has posted 42 yards rushing on eight carries in Washington.
