After securing a much-needed win over the New England Patriots, the San Francisco 49ers will have a chance to extend their winning ways in Week 5 when they welcome divisional opponent, the Arizona Cardinals to Santa Clara.

Prior to their matchup on Sunday, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon had high praise for 49ers passer Brock Purdy. When speaking to members of the media on Wednesday, Gannon compared Purdy to a 13-year veteran quarterback. Gannon praised all of Purdy’s game, including the 49ers quarterback’s ability to extend plays with his mobility.

From where he’s started to where he is now, he looks like a 13-year vet. Playing at a super high level, plays fast, knows where to go with the ball. Makes plays, extends plays and I think that’s an overlooked part of his game. Sometimes he looks like Houdini back there. It’s hard to get him on the ground too. Not being a quote-unquote one of those guys you talk about as a mobile quarterback. He’s very mobile. He makes a lot of plays with his legs. He’s accurate. He’s an accurate passer. Decision making and accuracy — got it, check, check and then he can extend plays, check.
