The San Francisco 49ers’ 2024 draft class got thrust into early action in Week 6.

Strong safety Talanoa Hufanga was out with a wrist injury, and cornerback Charvarius Ward had to miss the game because of a knee bruise. Their pre-game injuries thrust fourth-round pick Malik Mustapha into the starting strong safety spot, and second-round pick Renardo Green into the starting nickel corner spot.

A shoulder injury for running back Jordan Mason during the game also opened the door for fourth-round pick Isaac Guerendo to take some key carries to close the victory out.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan also told reporters in a conference call Friday after the game that first-round pick Ricky Pearsall would have his practice window opened.
