The 49ers have a bye week, so take it easy.
Most of the marquee matchups are in the afternoon slate. For Week 9, the biggest matchup in the NFC is between the Atlanta Falcons and the Dallas Cowboys.
The score last week seemed like it was close but that’s only because the San Francisco 49ers took their foot off the gas defensively in the fourth quarter after leaving about three touchdowns on the field in the first half. I don’t anticipate Atlanta having the same issues offensively. It should be a banner day for Bijan Robinson.
The New Orleans Saints are seven-point favorites over the Carolina Panthers. Derek Carr is back, but the Saints have already exposed themselves.
The other NFC matchup this morning is between the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants. We should be rooting for the Giants, as Washington should regress to the mean in the second half, and that should mean only one playoff spot goes to the NFC East.
