Before the Atlanta Falcons impressed in their home win over the Buffalo Bills, the San Francisco 49ers were 3-point favorites in Week 7 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
This will be the third game at Levi’s Stadium this season. The 49ers squeaked out a one-point victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3, but dropped a game the following week to the Jacksonville Jaguars after turning it over four times.
The Falcons had a bye week to prepare for the Bills. Now, they travel across the country in a short week. The last time Atlanta played on the road, they lost by 30 and didn’t score against the Carolina Panthers.
Atlanta only scored three points in the second half against Buffalo. They did outgain the Bills by 152 yards and 1.3 yards per play. Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier, perhaps a future Niner, are a dynamic duo. Robinson is arguably the most talented offensive player in the NFL.
Despite all of the injuries, the 49ers actually outgained Tampa Bay this past week. But penalties and a red zone trip gone wrong, plus two turnovers, were the difference.
The total on the game opened up at 47, suggesting we could be in for a high-scoring affair. The Niners being favored also signals that Brock Purdy could be back under center. We found out on Monday that George Kittle was expected to play. This Falcons defense doesn’t always pay for its problems on the scoreboard, but it’s been leaky enough that it’s not a unit you can fully trust. The line is a sign that Purdy plays, and perhaps Ricky Pearsall.
