The Chicago Bears are never out of a game. Caleb Williams may be inconsistent to start the game, but he has done a fabulous job of bringing his team back in the second half.
But if he gets down 21-3 to Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams, Williams can forget about an NFC Championship berth in his second year.
Stafford won’t have to win this one. We saw Christian McCaffrey rush for 140 yards against the Bears. I’d expect both Kyren Williams and Blake Corum to run all over Chicago, draining the energy at Soldier Field. You can’t score when you don’t have the ball, and Sean McVay knows that.
Ben Johnson should attack the Rams the same way that the 49ers and Seahawks did: With In-breakers. That’s where the Rams are most susceptible, and why they struggle to get off the field against offenses with a pulse. Caleb can make it interesting if he takes care of the ball. But his defense hasn’t done him many favors this season, and it’s unlikely to begin today against the best offense in the NFL.
An all-NFC West championship game is the prediction.
