The intensity of this long-time marquee matchup will be dampened compared to years past, as the NFL’s two former powerhouses’ high expectations for 2020 continue to bear the brunt of an uncanny number of injuries to key playmakers. Both teams have particularly struggled after early season injuries to their starting quarterbacks — the Niners’ Jimmy Garoppolo and Dallas’ Dak Prescott.
The two rival squads will mostly play for pride on Sunday, although both teams still hold nearly impossible odds of making the playoffs. Winning all three remaining games is essential for the Cowboys’ minuscule odds of winning the NFC East and the SF 49ers’ roughly eight-percent chance to snatch the NFC’s final Wild Card spot.

The Niners’ Week 15 matchup in Dallas will be broadcast live on television in CBS’s early 1 p.m. ET time slot in the Bay Area, nearly all of the western portion of the country, as well as the Philadelphia, New York, and Carolina television markets. Today’s early contest will be hosted by play-by-play announcer Kevin Harlan and color commentator Trent Green.
