The 49ers win over the Raiders didn’t have much of an impact on their 2019 draft position. San Francisco is still slated to pick third behind the Giants and Raiders according to NFL.com.

Here’s what the updated top-10 looks like:

1 – Oakland Raiders (1-7)
2 – New York Giants (1-7)
3 – San Francisco 49ers (2-7)
4 – Buffalo Bills (2-7)
5 – Arizona Cardinals (2-6)
6 – Cleveland Browns (2-6-1)
7 – New York Jets (3-6)
8 – Denver Broncos (3-6)
9 – Detroit Lions (3-5)
10 – Indianapolis Colts (3-5)

“Tanking” clearly isn’t something the 49ers are concerned with after they blew out the Raiders 34-3 at home in Week 9. The immediate thought for some was that the win would have a dramatically adverse affect on their draft position. They dropped two spots from No. 1, while the Raiders moved into the top pick. That likely means Ohio State EDGE Nick Bosa, widely regarded as the top edge rusher in the class, will be off the board first.

Picking third still gives San Francisco plenty of options at that position since the Giants probably won’t go that direction with the No. 2 pick.

Draft position will be intriguing to follow for the 49ers as they play out their final seven games. They’re not in the playoff hunt, so that precious draft capital will be a prime story line for a young, rebuilding team.

Their next game is an important one for draft positioning. They face the Giants on Monday night at Levi’s Stadium.
