The 49ers caught a massive break. It looked like their 20-14 win over the Broncos might crush their shot at the No. 1 overall pick. However, the Raiders came back to beat the Steelers, putting them at three wins along with the 49ers and Cardinals.

Over the Cap still projects the 49ers to land the No. 1 overall pick following the Sunday afternoon games:

Things could get a little messy with the tiebreakers and such. San Francisco and Arizona have identical strength of schedule, and that’s the first tiebreaker. After that, there are divisional and conference tiebreakers that come into determining the draft order.

We probably won’t know where the 49ers pick until all the games have been played. San Francisco has two games left against NFC West teams. They’re 0-4 in the division. All three of their contests are against NFC opponents.

The fact remains that San Francisco didn’t knock themselves out of contention for the top pick with a win. That’s an ideal scenario.

Next up for the 49ers are the Seahawks and Bears at Levi’s Stadium, then they travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams in Week 17.
