The bye week is a good time for 49ers fans to take a look at the 2019 NFL draft. Fortunately, our friend Luke Easterling of the Draft Wire posted a three-round mock draft where the 49ers have the No. 2 overall pick.

It’s still very early in the draft process with the college season still going on and the draft class not yet set. It’s still good to know what players to keep an eye on on Saturdays.

Easterling has the 49ers grabbing three athletic playmakers to add to a depleted roster.

Here’s a quick look at their three-round mock:

Ferrell is a popular selection for the 49ers on Draft Wire. It makes sense. He’s a dynamite player on one of the best teams in the country with NFL size, athleticism, and the production to match. Easterling also pointed to Ferrell’s consistency across four seasons with the Tigers:

Ferrell is one of the most athletic edge rushers in the 2019 draft class. He made an immediate impact and was consistently disruptive from game to game and would fit right in for coach Kyle Shanahan.

Finding a pass rusher who can play the LEO spot on all three downs and wreak havoc off the edge is the single biggest need for the 49ers in this year’s draft, and it looks like Ferrell fits that bill.

(Also, it turns out his last name is pronounced, FUHR-ell, like ‘referral,’ according to ESPN’s Todd McShay).
