That sounds about right as the Niners have little to play for
For this week’s reactions survey, we polled San Francisco 49ers fans, asking them how much the starters on both sides of the ball should play against the Los Angeles Rams.
We have the fourth-highest confidence poll of any fanbase at 98 percent. Here’s how fans voted regarding how long the starters should remain in the game:
1st quarter – 33 percent
Until they score – 8 percent
One-half – 36 percent
Full game- 23 percent
Judging by these results, fans would prefer the 49ers starters play four quarters rather than a series or two. That’s surprising, considering there’s nothing to gain. But you’d rather watch the team when they’re at their best, so it makes sense.
I’m curious to see if Kyle Shanahan elects to make a mass substitution where he pulls everyone at once or not. For example, Jaylon Moore cleared the concussion protocol. Let Trent Williams play a series or two, then get your franchise left tackle out of there and let Moore gain some experience.
Ray-Ray McCloud will be fresh, so let him run around as much as possible in an effort to preserve Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. We’ll find out soon enough how Shanahan plays it.
