The 49ers didn’t wait for rookie minicamp to assign jersey numbers to their 2024 draft picks and undrafted free agent additions. NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco posted on Twitter which jersey number each 49ers first-year player will rock when they first take the field for their offseason work.
Regardless of what “science” or “logic” may indicate, jersey number can have a dramatic effect on a player’s on-field success. Some numbers are good at a position. Others are bad.
