The 49ers came out of the draft with a new quarterback, spending a third-round pick on Iowa’s Beathard.

- With the 40th pick of the third round (104th overall), the 49ers selected QB C.J. Beathard from Iowa.
- Beathard finished with a 77.7 percent adjusted completion percentage with a clean pocket, the 10th-best mark of any QB in the draft class.
- Beathard is a two-year starter, grading out much better in 2015 than last season’s underwhelming performance.
