  • The San Francisco 49ers awarded former University of Colorado edge rusher Jimmie Gilbert a team-high guarantee of $62,000 to sign as an undrafted free agent.
  • Gilbert is a 6-foot-4, 231 pound edge rusher that earned second team All-Pac-12 honors from PFF in 2016.
  • He graded out above average as a pass rusher, against the run and in coverage.
  • A combine snub, Gilbert matches up well athletically when compared to other edge defenders. His pro day numbers would have ranked top-10 at the combine in the 40-yard dash (4.68), vertical jump (37 inches) and broad jump (10-feet even). Gilbert’s 12 bench press reps, though, would have been worst in the edge class.
