Reuben Foster’s suspension will add an interesting wrinkle to the final roster. He’s suspended for the first two weeks of the year, so the team won’t have him on the 53-man roster. That means they’ll have to release a player when Foster is able to return.
There’ll also be some movement when the 49ers place players on IR. Any two players on the original roster who go on IR can return after a minimum of six weeks.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said defensive back Marcell Harris and offensive lineman Erik Magnuson are candidates to hit IR.
The 49ers will begin constructing their 10-man practice squad Sunday. It should include some players they released Saturday.
