Patrick and myself debated on this. On one hand, there’s a pretty good chance some of these numbers change the closer we get to the regular season. Let’s just say the San Francisco 49ers second round selection Deebo Samuel will have a choice of a different number.
Samuel asked fans whether he should wear jersey No. 17 or No. 19 on Monday. The results were 53% for No. 19. If that’s what you voted, congrats, because that’s the number Samuel is going with.
First-round pick Nick Bosa chose No. 97. That’s no surprise. Bosa wore the same number at Ohio State. Third-round selection Jalen Hurd is going to wear No. 17. He wore both No. 1 and No. 5 at Tennessee and Baylor.
Here’s what number the rest of the draft class went with:
Mitch Wishnowsky- No. 6
Dre Greenlaw- No. 57
Kaden Smith- No. 89
Justin Skule- No. 67
Tim Harris- No. 35
The other number change was Pita Taumoepenu. He’s going from No. 55 to No. 50. Dee Ford will continue to wear No. 55 like he did in Kansas City.
