The 49ers on Monday had a bonus practice to cap the mini bye following their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Giants. While it is considered a practice, it’s not one that requires any kind of official injury report since it’s just an additional practice to help the club get back in the swing of football things before the real practices for Week 4 begin Wednesday.

On hand for Monday’s session was wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who missed Thursday’s game because of a shoulder injury. It’s not a huge surprise the Aiyuk was back in action already since head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated the team’s leading WR would’ve likely played if the game were Sunday instead of Thursday. His presence Monday is a good sign for his availability in Week 4.

One player not in attendance according to Matt Barrows of the Athletic was WR Deebo Samuel, who is working through a rib injury he suffered Thursday against the Giants. There wasn’t any immediate concern about a long-term issue. A better indicator for his health will come Wednesday when the team has to issue an actual participation report.

Barrows also reported linebacker Dre Greenlaw, cornerback Ambry Thomas, WR Jauan Jennings and LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles were all working on a side. Greenlaw is day-to-day with an ankle injury, while Thomas is still dealing with a knee injury he sustained in Week 2. Thomas was also out for Thursday’s game. Jennings’ injury is uncertain, while Flannigan-Fowles is dealing with a knee ailment.

The 49ers for the most part have stayed in good health through the first three weeks. Wednesday will give a better idea of how their health looks heading into Week 4, but early signs point to things heading the right direction for their group that is a little banged up.
