The 49ers on Friday re-signed reserve linebacker Mark Nzeocha to a one year contract to compete for a chance to make the team in 2018.
Nzeocha, 28, played in 10 games throughout the 2017 season and logged four special teams tackles after being plucked off the Cowboys practice squad in September.
The native of Ansbach, Bavaria in Germany was a seventh-round pick of Dallas in the 2015 NFL draft after playing his college ball at Wyoming.
The 49ers’ top two projected linebackers are Reuben Foster and Malcolm Smith. Top reserve Brock Coyle is unsigned in 2018. He had shoulder surgery and isn’t expected to be cleared for football-related activities until June. Fellow reserve linebacker Elijah has one year remaining on his contact.
