The 49ers are adding a familiar face to their wide receiver room. They announced Tuesday that WR Trent Taylor signed a one-year deal that will bring the 49ers’ 2017 fifth-round pick back to the Bay Area.

Taylor had a terrific rookie season with the 49ers when he hauled in 43 balls for 430 yards and two touchdowns. Back injuries slowed him over the next couple of seasons though and he left to join the Bengals after his rookie deal with San Francisco ended.

In Cincinnati Taylor caught just eight passes for 103 yards, but he contributed a ton on special teams as the Bengals’ primary punt returner. He figures to hold a similar spot with the 49ers if he makes the 53-man roster after PR Ray-Ray McCloud left to join the Falcons in free agency.
