This is likely for a scenario in which the team trades down

Add another one to the list. At his pro day this morning, Montez Sweat of Mississippi State told Tom Pelissero of NFL network that the San Francisco 49ers were one of the teams to schedule a visit with the speedy pass rusher.

I wondered how teams would react to the news of Sweat having a pre-existing heart condition. That condition was revealed at the NFL Combine earlier this month. His agent did a good job of getting out that this is “not news” and that there is no change in Sweat’s health. That seems to be the vibe as Sweat remains high in mock drafts. We will see when the draft comes around.

It’s tough to find a player that has crushed the postseason circuit in a way that Sweat has. He not only showed up to the Senior Bowl but impressed. A lot of times you see guys not even compete. The same can be said at the combine. The 6’6, 260 pound edge rusher ran a 4.41 40-yard dash. That’s insane. The rest of his numbers were impressive, too. He came close to passing the 49ers WR threshold.

SB Nation’s Stephen White believes Sweat is nearly the perfect defensive end. What do you think?
