What an awesome gesture by the organization

Over the weekend, the San Francisco 49ers lost a great man in area scout Reggie Cobb. You could tell during John Lynch’s press conference on Monday that he was still bothered by the loss. It’d be impossible to go through this draft without a guy that has been with the organization for a decade.

The Niners already said they are keeping Cobb’s seat open at the draft table this week. Today the 49ers announced that Cobb’s son DeMarcus will announce the team’s second-round pick from Nashville on Friday night. Former 49ers tight end Earl Cooper will also take part in the selection.

This is awesome on a couple of different levels. Making the last minute effort to honor Cobb speaks a lot about Johny Lynch and company. What makes this that much better is that Cobb went to the University of Tennessee. The draft is being held in Nashville. DeMarcus grew up three hours from Nashville. Just an awesome gesture by the team.
