The San Francisco 49ers won’t have Ricky Pearsall again at wide receiver. We’ll also have to wait on rookie Jordan Watkins to make his debut.
Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne will shoulder the workload for the Niners at wide receiver. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a heavy blitz and man-to-man team, meaning there will be opportunities for the big play in the passing game for Mac Jones.
Demarcus Robinson caught a back-shoulder fade last week. He also had another opportunity on a double move that was close to being a touchdown. Outside of those three, the 49ers have Marques Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore.
The 49ers have a few players on the defensive line who were questionable on the final injury report. They are all active, including Alfred Collins, Kalia Davis, and CJ West. Here is a look at today’s inactives:
Brock Purdy
Ricky Pearsall
Jordan Watkins
Jordan James
Yetur Gross-Matos
Nick Martin
Mac Jones being active can unlock a $400,000 incentive if he leads the 49ers to a win today. Per Tom Pelissero, it sounds like the clause is if Jones leads the Niners to a fourth win. So, if it doesn’t happen today, Jones will have more chances if Purdy continues to be sidelined.
Malik Mustapha is officially active, as expected.
