How will the backups fare with a heavier workload?

The 49ers are on the road this afternoon against the Arizona Cardinals. They’ll be without their starting defensive tackles as Javon Hargrave and Arik Armstead will miss with injuries.

That puts more on the plate of Javon Kinlaw, Kevin Givens, and Kalia Davis. That trio has performed well this season, but now they’ll be asked to do it for a full game and not just part-time.

It’ll be interesting to see how heavy of a ground attack the Arizona Cardinals employ, and how often they’ll rely on Kyler Murray as a rushing threat.

There were no true surprises on the injury report. Logan Ryan is wearing No. 33. There will be a youth movement, potentially, today. Robert Beal Jr. is set to make his debut. He’s wearing No. 51.

The 49ers won’t lack offensively. A fast start could go a long way in putting pressure on the Cardinals to score, leading to a potential turnover.
