Not too shabby a Sunday!

The San Francisco 49ers improved to 3-10 on the season with a 20-14 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon. They had a phenomenal first half, jumping out to a 20-0 lead and dominating in all three phases of the game. In the second half, they could not get much of anything going on offense, and the defense started to wear down. Fortunately, both sides did enough to hold off the Broncos and secure the win.

Sunday turned out to be a win-win for the 49ers and us fans. The team won behind a monster performance from George Kittle, and a solid performance much of the day by the defense. However, for those of us concerned about draft position, the Oakland Raiders and New York Jets also won. The 49ers have the tiebreaker edge for now, and so they won while not sacrificing draft position for the time being. That’s very much a win-win.

There are still three games to go, and a lot can swing in the race for the No. 1 pick. But for one day, we got to see the 49ers win AND hold onto the top pick. I’d say that’s a good day.
