Some possible late round or undrafted free agent targets

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting a couple of skill players, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. The team held a private workout for wide receiver DeAndre Thompkins of Penn State. Thompkins ran a 4.33 40-yard dash at the teams Pro Day. Thompkins caught 25 of his 49 targets for 322 yards and two touchdowns.

Thompkins returned a total of 66 kickoffs and punts during his college career, two of which resulted in Penn State touchdowns. He spoke about being able to do more at his Pro Day and why NFL teams value that:

“I’ve heard both [from NFL teams],” Thompkins said. “The more versatile you are, the more they like you, and the more places they can put you, which leads to more opportunities. I think they really take that into consideration.”

The 49ers also worked out Cameron Glenn of Wake Forest. The Senior safety was not invited to the combine. At his Pro Day, he spoke to reporters, but didn’t confirm any of his times. I’ve never watched him play a down. During his senior season Glenn finished with 98 tackles, four pass breakups, and no interceptions. Check out his highlights:

Finally, the team also worked out Baylor CB Derrek Thomas. 6-3, 194-pound Temple transfer ran the 40-yard dash in 4.44 seconds at the NFL scouting combine with a low time of 4.39 seconds. He also had a 39.5 in vertical leap. Thomas played one year at Baylor and finished with 21 tackles, seven passes defended, and one interception.
