The 49ers’ Week 1 performance left a lot to be desired from a fantasy football standpoint. Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin was hurt in the season opener before catching a pass. Running back Alfred Morris ran for 38 yards on 12 carries and fumbled at the goal line. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw three interceptions. It was a fantasy football disaster. That should turn around in Week 2 when they welcome in the Detroit Lions.

Here are five 49ers to consider starting in Week 2 in your fantasy league:

TE George Kittle

Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

Kittle is one or two games away from being a must-start tight end. His athleticism and ability to exploit weaknesses in various areas of the field should make him a high-volume target for Garoppolo all season. Kittle had nine targets last week and caught five balls for 90 yards. He and Garoppolo couldn’t connect on three would-be touchdowns. He was inches from a monster game, and it feels like more potentially huge games are coming.
