The 2017 season is in the books after the Eagles’ thrilling 41-33 victory over the Patriots Sunday night in Super Bowl LII. It’s officially the offseason for all 32 NFL teams, which means it’s never too early to start looking at next year’s big game in Atlanta.

So far, the 49ers are the darlings of the betting public with Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback to make a run at next year’s title. San Francisco is getting 12 percent of the tickets and 16 percent of the money to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in 12 months, according to William Hill Race and Sports Book. No team is getting more early action.

Depending where you look, the 49ers are +1800 to +2000 to win next season’s Super Bowl, ranking in the top third of the league after finishing 6-10 last season. But Garoppolo reinvigorated the franchise by winning all five of his starts after coming over in the trade with the Patriots on Halloween.

San Francisco finished the year by winning six of seven while Garoppolo took down three teams playoff teams, including the Jaguars, who gave the Patriots all they could handle in the AFC title game.

The 49ers are a good value bet at 18- or 20-to-1 given they might have one of the league’s best young quarterbacks in Garoppolo, an improving defense and one of the best offensive minds in the league calling the shots in Kyle Shanahan. They also have upwards of $100 million in cap space and nine draft picks to help fortify the roster this spring.
