Does this have anything to do with the 49ers? Not really.

In my line of work, I get a lot of notifications of people saying “Why didn’t you write this? Why didn’t you post this?” Sometimes these point to ridiculous, silly videos and tweets made by those affiliated with the 49ers organization. Others, it’s just because I didn’t find it important. This following video is far more important than you realize. When I’m about to talk about Dante Pettis doing a dance that mimics a guy in a blazer and boxer briefs dancing to some foreign polka song, you know something is about to be awful or awesome. In this case, it’s nothing but awesome.

First, some context. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross, tweeted at Dante Pettis with the following video. For the curious, Ross and Pettis played together at the University of Washington.

I can see why the tweet happened. This guy DOES look like Pettis to the untrained eye. He has the highlihgted hair, build, and somewhat of a facial match. But as eclectic and art-minded as Pettis is, I never figured I’d see Pettis in a blazer and boxer briefs dancing to this tune.

Swap the blazer for a hawaiian shirt and the briefs for some shorts and you get this from Pettis. A day or two later, Pettis responded in kind with his own version of the above tweet:

What does this have to do with the 49ers? Absolutely nothing. I ran into this video thanks to everyone emailing and commenting at me about it. My first question was “What the hell did I just watch?” But considering this is Dante Pettis in a sweet Hawaiian shirt doing a dance I could never do, I shouldn’t ask that.

Judging by the clothing, I’m guessing this dance is from his hotel room in Vegas as he was at the grand opening of a Vegas hotel. I can’t think of a better set of tweets to close out the evening. So watch this, have a nice laugh, and we’ll see you all in the morning.
