Fans are thinking playoffs

For this version of FanPulse, we survey fans to see where their confidence with the San Francisco 49ers were. We asked three questions—and let me tell you—the morale of the team has skyrocketed since the last time we did this. The questions were how many wins the Niners would have, if you like the direction of the team, and if the team got better after free agency.
To no surprise, fans picked the over on the win total. We set the over/under of 8.5 wins. 84.21 of you picked the over. Hovering right around nine wins, the 49ers will be in a prime spot to compete for a wildcard. Winning nine games doesn’t guarantee you get in. It certainly puts you in the mix, though.
Going from four to nine wins might seem like a stretch for a lot of outsiders. When you take into account how many injuries the team suffered—especially at the most important position—it’s not not too far-fetched to believe a healthy 49ers team can get over eight wins. Then you factor in the free agent moves the team made, including the trade for Dee Ford. 95% of fans like the direction that the 49ers are headed. A whopping 98% felt like the team improved after free agency.
We will do another FanPulse before and after the draft. Perhaps the Niners add another veteran player. It could also be a divisional rival added a free agent and that may worry you. We shall see.
