49ers tight end George Kittle is posting historically great numbers for a tight end in a season where tight end play around the league has lacked some. That makes his fantasy football impact even more consequential since he’s one of very few consistently productive fantasy players at his position. He’s been so dominant, in fact, that some fantasy players are trying to charge Kittle money for singlehandedly beating their team.

The second-year tight end was on Ian Rapoport’s podcast and told the NFL Network insider that his seven-catch, 210-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Broncos prompted fantasy players to ask him for money on Venmo for dominating against their team.

Kittle’s Week 14 performance against Denver fell just five yards short of the NFL single-game record for receiving yards by a tight end. It was also the first round of the fantasy playoffs for many users.

It’s a bold move to request $5,000 from a player for doing their job. Perhaps those players will ensure they have the 49ers tight end on their team next season.

There’s a strong chance Kittle is the first tight ends taken in many leagues next year given his production under backup quarterbacks in the 2018 season. A healthy Jimmy Garoppolo could mean even more production for Kittle in Year 3, and should also mean more big fantasy outings.
