A likely trade back scenario

The San Francisco 49ers have hosted just about every top player in the draft. On Tuesday, the former edge rusher out of Florida State said that he will be visiting the 49ers soon. That was in an interview with Chris Simms and NBC Sports. If you have never seen Burns play, we’ll be breaking him down on the site later today.

One of the biggest critiques for Burns was his weight. He reportedly played during the year at 230 pounds. He weighed in at 253 at the combine. During the interview, Burns spoke about how he changed his eating habits and now he’s used to the weight. Four meals and two shakes a day will do that. By the sounds of it, Burns won’t have any issue maintaining his weight. At the combine he ran a 4.53 with a 1.57 10-yard split.

Burns said the main things teams have asked him about is converting “speed to power” and holding up at the point of attack. Which makes sense for a guy that played at 253. It’ll be interesting to see how much stronger Burns gets with 23 extra pounds. It’s tough to say whether this would be for the number two overall pick. More than likely a trade back scenario.
