The 49ers did some wheeling and dealing on Day 3 of the NFL draft to go from six picks to eight. They finished up with five picks in Rounds 4 through 7, to go along with their three picks in the first three rounds.
Here is a complete list of the 49ers draft picks:
Round 1, Pick 2: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
Round 2, Pick 36: Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina
Round 3, Pick 67: Jalen Hurd, WR, Baylor
Round 4, Pick 110: Mitch Wishnowsky, P, Utah
Round 5, Pick 148: Dre Greenlaw, LB, Arkansas
Round 6, Pick 176: Kaden Smith, TE, Stanford
Round 6, Pick 183: Justin Skule, OT, Vanderbilt
Round 6, Pick 198: Tim Harris, CB, Virginia
There’s a noticeable absence of defensive backs and offensive linemen – two spots many thought San Francisco would attack early. They didn’t go that route until late though, favoring offense and securing a punter in the fourth round.
If the 49ers are going to make the playoffs this year, they need this 2019 draft class to produce a couple starters, and multiple contributors. They can’t afford to miss on many selections with so many weaknesses to bolster on the roster.
