Wednesday, May 15th, 2019 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from the Internet

Entering his 3rd season as 49ers head coach, Kyle Shanahan has worked hard to build his offense with the help of GM John Lynch. The 49ers offense has been fairly good at moving the ball in Kyle’s offense, but they’ve had trouble scoring touchdowns. Kyle has shown to be able to draw up plays to get players open, but the red zone has shown to be a little more difficult for Kyle and his offense.

Having Jimmy returning from injury and having stability at QB should help. But the team needed to make sure to surround him with more talent. The team signed Tevin Coleman, who played under Kyle in Atlanta. He is expected to help just by his familiarity with the offense. Having him in the backfield with Matt Breida and the return of Jerick McKinnon gives them a nice stable of running backs. In the draft, the team selected 2 receivers that should help and Dante Pettis showed that he could get open in short space last season. Having all these pieces with George Kittle should give the offense a huge improvement in the red zone. If Jimmy G can stay healthy all season, the team takes advantage of the red zone opportunities, and the defense performs, Kyle Shanahan could have the 49ers winning and competing for a playoff spot.
