A daily compilation of 49ers news from around the net. Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019 edition.

As of yesterday, the 49ers have set their offseason schedule in stone. The first event will be the beginning of the offseason conditioning program, which will begin April 15th, the very first day that the team is eligible to begin workouts. Phase one of offseason conditioning is limited to two weeks, during which time the players are allowed only to condition and attend meetings. Phase two will last three weeks, at which point coaches will be allowed to be on the field with the players, although the types of drills are limited by the lack of pads and helmets.

During the offseason conditioning program, the NFL draft will occur, from April 25th to April 27th. The weekend after the conclusion of the draft, May 3rd to May 5th, rookie minicamp will take place, allowing the new 49ers to get up to speed.

The team is schedule to begin OTAs (organized team activities) on May 20th, a four-week phase during which offenses and defenses are allowed to scrimmage, and helmets are allowed to be worn. However, pads and live contact are still restricted. OTAs will continue for four weeks, and will culminate in the three-day mandatory minicamp, from June 11th to June 13th.

At that point, the offseason doldrums, the dregs, the days of Nuggets with one link will set in for five to six weeks. In case you don’t know about offseason fever, that’s when it happens. Anyway, late July will see the beginning of training camp, when fully padded scrimmages are permitted. Training camp will extend into the preseason, at which point we’ll be on the home stretch.
