The 2019 preseason schedule was released on Tuesday. The 49ers will start their preseason at home against the Dallas Cowboys. Week 2 has the team head to the Mile High City to face off against the Denver Broncos and newly acquired quarterback Joe Flacco. The Week 3 dress rehearsal game will be away against the Kansas City Chiefs. And the preseason finale will be at home against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Week 3 game against Kansas City is intriguing because that is where Jimmy Garoppolo’s season ended a little over 11 months ago last regular season. The 3rd preseason game is the game that the starters play a whole 1st half and part of the 2nd half. Jimmy is still working his way back from the ACL injury he suffered in K.C. All the 49ers need is to have Jimmy and the rest of the starters finish the preseason with a clean bill of health.

Earlier in the offseason, the 49ers franchise tagged kicker Robbie Gould. He was interested in exploring free agency, but the 49ers used the tag to keep him. The 49ers have reportedly offered Gould a long-term deal, but he hasn’t agreed to it nor has he signed the franchise tag offer. Because of that, the 49ers were reportedly interested in free agent Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski. But it is reported that Gostkowski agreed to a two year deal to return to the New England Patriots.
