Last week, my attempt at writing the Golden Nuggets didn’t exactly go as planned. One reason for that is the fact that mere hours after getting it posted, Robbie Gould asked to be traded. And now, like the tease he is, he has put his Illinois mansion up for sell. I don’t know what that means as far as the San Francisco 49ers are concerned, because he still hasn’t rescinded his trade request, but it does make you think.

Meanwhile, the 49ers made some roster moves official. Seven players got cut, chief among them was recently signed punter, Justin Vogel. I just can’t help but feel bad for the guy. He had a good year in 2017 with the Green Bay Packers, getting selected as a Pro Bowl alternate, only to be released the next season after they drafted a new punter. He failed to make the Cleveland Browns roster in 2018, and was probably thinking he’d get a fair shake when he signed with us this year. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be. The 49ers drafted 27 year-old punting phenom Mitch Wishnowsky in the 4th round and the rest is history.
