These are up a little later this morning as I was locked out of my computer last night and couldn’t get to these nuggets. Jesse was kind enough to do the nuggets for this morning and it’s silly to waste this!
John Lynch held a pre-draft press conference where he addressed a wide range of topics from the passing of area scout Reggie Cobb to learning from mistakes like the drafting of Reuben Foster and Joe Williams. One thing that was asked during the press conference is when Robbie Gould is expected to report. In short, John Lynch doesn’t know. He just knows that Gould will be there for the season opener. While the lack of a return date does make one worry, I think you have to consider Gould’s veteran status and the trust that the 49ers have in him to be ready to step in whenever it is that he does show up.

Another topic that was brought up is what went into scouting Nick Bosa, specifically referencing things done on social media. Lynch brushed it off the social media stuff and spoke about how well he gets along with teammates. Personally, I doubt that Bosa is racist. I just think he’s young and a little sheltered from the crueler side of life.

Watching the press conference, I really got a feeling that Lynch has Bosa at the top of his draft board, but he was quick to heap praise on Quinnen Williams. It could be smoke to maybe influence the cards to take him so Bosa falls, or he genuinely wants to draft the guy. I don’t know, I just think it seems a little superfluous to even consider drafting him.
