49ers vs. Jaguars PFF grades: Best and worst from the game, plus snap counts
“Trent Williams was the game’s highest-graded (78.4) offensive lineman. Right tackle Colton McKivitz came in second with a 77.1 offensive grade.

Williams also earned the game’s best run-blocking grade (82.3), while McKivitz recorded the team’s best pass-blocking grade (75.9)“

49ers QB Brock Purdy has not looked right in limited showing so far this season
“After all, the Purdy appears compromised. In this form, he does not look as if he is part of the solution for an offense that has struggled with giveaways and cashing in their red-zone opportunities.”

How concerning is Brock Purdy’s toe soreness? 49ers minutia minute (paywall)
“The 49ers’ screen game, which disappeared at times last season, has been prominent the past two weeks. Colby and Brendel had impressive blocks in space on Tonges’ 21-yard touchdown, just as they did last week on a screen to McCaffrey that set up the game-winning field goal.

Colby, who is dealing with a groin injury, also struggled in pass protection for the second straight week. He gave up five quarterback pressures, the same number he allowed against the Arizona Cardinals.“

New special teams coach in charge, but same ugly results for 49ers (paywall)
“Curtis Robinson has almost exclusively been a core-four special teams player on kickoff coverage, punt coverage, kickoff return and punt return across his tenure in Santa Clara, meaning he was around last season when the 49ers ranked 30th in the NFL in yards allowed per punt return and 24th in yards allowed per kickoff return.

In position to make a play on Jaguars punt returner Parker Washington, the veteran reserve linebacker badly whiffed.

“Well, I missed the tackle,” Robinson said. “At the point of the attack, that’s on me. I didn’t really see much else of what happened. … I’ll have to go back and watch the film. Obviously, not good enough for myself or as a unit.”

49ers Week 4 rookie report: Upton Stout and the disappearing highlight (paywall)
“Colby played every offensive snap in his second career start, allowed a team-high five pressures, and received by far the lowest pass-blocking grade of the five 49ers offensive linemen, 47.7 by Pro Football Focus. (He finished with an even worse grade of 14.1 in his first career start.) Much was said about his impressive NFL debut in Week 2, when he was thrust into a road game at the Saints after starting left guard Ben Bartch was sidelined with an ankle injury that subsequently landed him on injured reserve. In that game, Colby surrendered zero pressures in 61 snaps with a 73.1 PFF pass-blocking grade. He has nursed an injured groin through two lackluster performances since then.”

“The 49ers previously played an early 10 a.m. PT game in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. With Week 6’s early game removed, only three more 10 a.m. PT kickoffs remain on their schedule: Week 8 at the Houston Texans, Week 9 at the New York Giants, and Week 13 at the Cleveland Browns.”
