“Owens is attractive to the 49ers because they see so much untapped potential. He hardly played football in high school (he saw himself as a basketball player then), then bounced from Contra Costa College to Florida Atlantic to Missouri State.
He doesn’t have quite his father’s frame. Still, he’s 6-2, 200 pounds and ran his 40 in 4.51 seconds. And he did that without training at EXOS or XPE or one of the ultra-intense pre-draft training facilities. He did it while training on his own in San Ramon and delivering Instacart meals to earn money.”

“And so, what didn’t we get better at? Hopefully, we will get better at offensive line. You saw it in the Super Bowl. You saw it toward the end of the season. That’s the thing that’s going to be a big difference maker, more so than even at receiver. I think that offensive line beats receiver as far as importance in what you have to have in the league.”

““I’d probably shed some tears if he makes it because I’ve seen the growth. I’ve seen the process,” Terrell said.
Despite the challenge ahead for Terique, he’ll follow his father’s mantra — “elevation requires separation” — to survive in the NFL.
“Now that I’m in a position where I can actually get on a team, I really have to lock in to secure a spot,” Terique stated. “It’s always been a competition; everything is up from here.”
